Center for Additional Educational Services (CAES)
The Center for Additional Educational Services (CAES) at Miras International School offers students a wide range of opportunities to explore their interests, develop new talents, and strengthen essential skills beyond the classroom. Through high-quality programs in music, sports, languages, science, and the arts, CAES supports the holistic development of every child in a stimulating and nurturing environment.

Our Areas of Learning
Music Department
Students can develop their musical abilities through both individual and group instruction in:
Piano
Solfeggio
Guitar
Dombra
Vocals
Violin
The Music Department combines professional training with performance opportunities. Piano and guitar lessons are offered individually, while vocals, violin, dombra, and solfeggio are available in both individual and group formats.
Throughout the academic year, students showcase their progress in two annual concerts. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a Music School Diploma, and graduates complete a final assessment in their specialization to earn a Certificate of Completion from the Children's Music School at Miras International School.
Schedule: Twice a week, 40-minute lessons.
Sports Department
Our sports programs promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance through structured training in:

Swimming
Karate
Basketball
Most sports activities are organized in age-based groups to ensure appropriate skill development and a positive learning experience. Swimming is available in both individual and group formats.
Students actively participate in competitions with private schools across Almaty, gaining valuable experience in sportsmanship and teamwork. Taekwondo students have the opportunity to participate in belt certification assessments twice a year, conducted in collaboration with representatives of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) in Almaty.
Schedule: Two to three times per week, 40-minute lessons.
Language Courses
Our language programs support effective communication and multilingual development through courses in:

Classes are available in individual sessions and small groups of 5–7 students, allowing us to combine personalized instruction with collaborative learning experiences.
Special attention is given to each student’s individual learning needs, helping to strengthen language proficiency, build confidence, and develop practical communication skills.

Creative Courses
Choreography
Students explore both classical and modern dance styles in age-appropriate groups. Choreography students actively participate in school performances, as well as city, national, and international competitions, building confidence, discipline, and artistic expression.

Visual Arts (Painting)
Art classes encourage creativity and self-expression through an individualized approach to artistic development. Students explore a variety of artistic techniques, materials, and styles while developing knowledge of:
Composition
Color theory
Painting techniques
Creative expression through visual arts
Students regularly participate in both school and external exhibitions, showcasing their artistic achievements.

Digital & Visual Art
This innovative course introduces students to the world of digital illustration and creative technology. Students learn to work with Procreate and explore illustration techniques through engaging, project-based learning.
The curriculum includes:
Digital illustration fundamentals
Comics and storytelling
Concept art and character design
Commercial illustration
Understanding creative briefs and technical tasks
Introduction to renowned illustrators and artistic styles
Foundations of fine arts through illustration
The program is offered at three levels:
Beginner (Grades 1–4)Twice a week, 40-minute lessons. Focus on foundational drawing skills, digital tools, and introduction to illustration.
Intermediate (Grades 5–8)Twice a week, 60-minute lessons. Expanded skill development and deeper exploration of digital illustration.
Senior / Advanced (Grades 9–12)Twice a week, 80-minute lessons. Full immersion in digital art and portfolio-oriented creative practice.
Science Courses
Mathematics Support
Designed primarily for middle and high school students, mathematics courses provide targeted academic support through individual and group instruction, tailored to each student’s level and learning goals.
The program focuses on:
Strengthening foundational mathematical knowledge
Developing confidence in problem-solving
Enhancing analytical thinking
Preparing for assessments and examinations
Lessons emphasize practical application and consistent skill development.
SAT Mathematics Preparation
This specialized course prepares high school students for success in the SAT Mathematics examination, supporting entry into leading universities worldwide. Students strengthen mathematical reasoning, problem-solving techniques, and exam strategies through focused practice.
