Grade 11 Kazakhstani National Curriculum
Grade 11 Kazakhstani National Curriculum
Upon completion of Grade 10, students may choose to continue their education in either Grade 11 (Kazakhstani National Curriculum) or Grade 11 IB (Diploma Programme).
The Kazakhstani National Curriculum at Miras International School for Grade 11 combines the State Educational Standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan with international educational approaches. Designed for students aged 16 to 18, the programme supports not only the development of academic (hard) and interpersonal (soft) skills, but also fosters patriotic and international-minded perspectives, independent research abilities, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of personal and social responsibility.
The programme places a strong emphasis on the holistic development of each student, supporting physical, intellectual, emotional, and ethical growth in line with the Miras learner profile.
The Kazakhstani National Curriculum serves as a natural continuation of the integrated lower secondary programme, which combines the requirements of the national curriculum with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
In Grade 11, students study a range of mandatory core subjects across the seven subject groups established by the national curriculum. In addition, the programme includes a flexible elective component, allowing students to select subjects at either Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL) based on their interests and future academic goals.
Students select two Higher Level (HL) subjects from the humanities group, including:
World History
Geography
Second Foreign Language (French)
Law
Students also choose two Standard Level (SL) subjects from the following:
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Business Management
These course options are designed to support students in preparing for their future university studies and career aspirations.
Upon completion of the programme, students undertake final state exams and receive a Certificate of General Secondary Education.
