Read about the school

Meet the admission officer
Meet with the admission officer for a familiarization tour of the school.

Application form
Complete and sign the application form.

Schedule the entrance test
The date of the entrance test is set. The cost of the test is 12 000 tenge, paid to the Accounts Department.

Test
Take the entrance test under exam conditions.

Test results
Test results are communicated within three working days.

Agreement and enrollment
Sign the agreement and register the enrollment order. The required documents must be submitted (see the documents list below).

Terms of admission

Admission is based on the results of entrance testing with consideration of the child's age.

Primary School Admission Procedure

Preschool and Kindergarten

The prospective student for Preschool or Kindergarten has an interview with a psychologist, teacher and coordinator. The prospective student for Kindergarten has also an interview with a Kindergarten coordinator in Mathematics and either Kazakh, Russian or English (based on the prospective language of instruction). The Head of School makes the final decision on student admission to Kindergarten and Pre-school.

Grades 1–4

Entrance test:

Mathematics (in one of the languages of instruction at Miras: Kazakh, Russian or English)
Kazakh, English or Russian (in accordance with the prospective language of instruction)
English (for international non-native English speakers)
Interview with the school psychologist (Grades 1 and 2)

For enrollment, students must score 60% or higher in the entrance test.

Secondary School Admission Procedure (Grades 5–10) and Grade 11 (Kazakhstani Programme)

Entrance test

Entrance test by language stream:

English and Mathematics (English-taught stream)
Russian, English and Mathematics (Russian-taught stream)
Kazakh, English and Mathematics (Kazakh-taught stream)

Pass thresholds

A minimum score of 60% in the language test (English, Kazakh or Russian) is required. Students who score 50–59% may be admitted on probation if they perform successfully in the interview. For students learning in English whose language level is sufficient, a special ESL programme supports further improvement of language proficiency.

Mathematics threshold

A minimum score of 50% in the Mathematics test is required. Students scoring 35–49% may be accepted on probation, if there are reasonable grounds (such as gaps on specific test topics).

Grade 11 — Kazakhstani Programme

Students are admitted to Grade 11 of the Kazakhstani programme based on their language of instruction in secondary school (Russian or Kazakh), the parents' application and a lower-secondary education certificate or MYP certificate.

Diploma Programme Admission (Grades 11–12)

Entrance tests

Three components are tested:

First Language (English, Russian) — Part 1: analysis of literary text · Part 2: essay
English as a second language (ESL) — Part 1: reading comprehension · Part 2: essay
Mathematics

Test schedule

DP entrance tests are administered at the Foundation schools in Astana and Almaty in the second half of April, in May and in the second half of August. Students who fail an exam in April are allowed to retake the subject(s) in August. Tests can be arranged in the candidate's present school provided that they are taken under strict exam conditions; exam scripts must be scanned and emailed to the Diploma Programme Coordinator and hard copies mailed to Miras Almaty or Astana.

Interview

Should exam results be inconclusive, Miras may request that the student attend an interview with the Secondary School Principal and DP Coordinator.

Admission is based on:

Available space in the corresponding KG group or grade (the number of children in a group or grade must not exceed 20–22 people).
Entrance test results.
Interview with the student.
Assessment by a psychologist (only for Pre-School, Kindergarten and Grade 1 students).

Documents

Enrollment documents

Documents required to enroll a student at Miras International School:

01An application to the Head of School signed by the parent or guardian, plus two copies of the agreement (one for the school's student file, the other for the parents).
02Birth certificate (copy).
03Children who are non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan must additionally provide: a copy of the student's passport (all filled-in pages) and copies of both parents' passports (all pages).
04ID cards of both parents (copies).
05Photos (3×4 cm) — 2 colour copies, with the student's name and group written on the back.
06Original medical certificate including a full list of vaccinations.
07Copy of the payment receipt with the student's name indicated. The first tranche covers quarterly fees for preschool or 50–100% of the annual fee for school, plus the entrance fee of 400 000 tenge.
08For school applicants: school leaving certificate from the previous school.
09Transcripts (original grade sheet and current grades).
10Certificate of Middle School (for students entering Grades 10–11).

Important

Special conditions

01The fees established in this Order are paid to the main office of the "NNEF" Foundation.
02Payment for kindergarten tuition is due quarterly by 1 August 2026, 1 November 2026, 1 February 2027 and 1 May 2027. School tuition is due by 1 September 2026 (50% of the annual fee) and by 15 December 2026 (the remaining 50%).
03A 5% discount is provided for full payment of the fee for the 2026–2027 academic year by 1 September 2026.
04When multiple children from the same family attend schools, nursery schools or kindergartens within the NNEF system, a 5% discount on tuition is provided for the second child, and a 10% discount for the third and subsequent children. The discount applies exclusively to the cost of educational services and does not apply to meal payments.
05Meal fees must be paid by 1 September 2026 (50% of the annual rate) and by 15 December 2026 (50%).
06A 5% discount is provided for full payment of the meal fee for the academic year by 1 September 2026.

Uniform

School uniform

Dear parents and students of Miras school — the school uniform store opens from Monday, 4 August according to the following schedule. From 4 August to 15 August: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 – 19:00 (Sunday closed). From 15 August onwards: 10:00 – 19:00 daily, no days off and no breaks. Sincerely, Brosh Uniform.
